ContiTech Antriebssysteme GmbH (“Continental”, “Us”, or “We”) is making available the smartphone application Continental Make Power Smart (“Mobile App” or “App” - mps.continental-industry.com). This App allows users to measure distance, pulley diameters, center distance between pulleys, wrapping angle, misalignment, RPM of the pulleys, etc. Identify and select the right belt without any previous belt knowledge required. Mobile app also provides drive calculations, recommendations to reduce cost and measure tension of the belt.

Personal data that you enter will be processed by ContiTech Antriebssysteme GmbH for the purpose(s) stated below. Insofar it is necessary for the fulfilment of the purpose, the data may also be transferred to third parties affiliated with ContiTech Antriebssysteme GmbH within the meaning of §§ 15 ff. (German) Stock Corporation Act and in accordance with the Binding Corporate Rules of Continental.

Extract information from pictures and videos; to obtain measurements such as: distance, pulley diameters, center distance between pulleys, wrapping angle, misalignment, RPM of the pulleys, etc.
Identify and select the right belt without any previous belt knowledge required. A user will need to input some generic information and the App will take those inputs to recommend the best belt selection. Information in this feature is pre-set and validated, so user selects from existing information; there is no information entered from their side
Provide drive calculations and get recommendations to reduce cost and increase lifetime. Processing to be done by the App using data entered by the user (power of the motor, rpm pulleys, diameter of the pulleys, belt’s geometry, and the time the belt is running (hours/day, days/week and weeks/year) and the cost of the energy user is paying.
Record with the smartphone’s microphone the vibration of the belt to measure its tension. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RECORD THE FREQUENCY WHILE THE BELT IS IN MOTION.
Assist users to predict potential failure; prescribe the right belt in the right time; interconnect distributors and MROs for buying the belt.

a) Installation of Continental Make Power Smart (“Mobile App” or “App” - mps.continental-industry.com) Use of the Continental Make Power Smart (“Mobile App” or “App” - mps.continental-industry.com) requires the installation of this App (from Apple’s App store and Google’s Play store) and the user’s proper consent to the Terms of Use and the Data Protection Declaration.

The use of the Continental Make Power Smart App requires registration by stating username, email and choosing a password via Continental Make Power Smart App ("[name] -Account"). For the purpose of honest and fair dealing with each other the user is requested to provide true information and their real name [The user first receives a user-ID as username within the registration process; the user is free to change its user name later individually.] Furthermore the user has to give their prior consent to the Terms of Use and the Data Protection Declaration.

Registration is only available to persons over 18 years old. By using the Mobile App, You represent and warrant that: (a) all registration information and data that You submit is truthful and accurate; (b) You are using this App and associated services within the framework of your commercial and/or business activity and you are not a consumer under the applicable law; (c) You are authorized by the Subscriber to use the Mobile App, (d) You are accessing the Mobile App for a legitimate business purpose; and (e) You will only use the Mobile App and Service as permitted by these Terms.

Continental reserves the right to change or amend these Data Protection Declaration in the interests of the Continental Make Power Smart (“Mobile App” or “App” - mps.continental-industry.com) at any time with effect for the future, provided that such changes are not unreasonable for the User. This shall be the case in particular if the changes do not involve any substantial detriment to the User, e.g. with changes in contact information, the commencement of additional services or any similar matters.

In each case of intended change to these Data Protection Declaration Continental shall give reasonable notice to the User of at least [30] days prior to any change coming into force. Such notification shall take place via email to the email address provided by the User upon registration or via pop-up window in case a registration was not required.

The User has to give his consent to the changed Data Protection Declaration to continuing the use of Continental Make Power Smart (“Mobile App” or “App” - mps.continental-industry.com) by ticking the respective opt-in box of the pop-up window or through renewed logging in.
